The G.O.A.T. is back. Marianne Vos won the opening stage of the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift into Plumelec, besting Kim Le Court (AG Insurance-Soudal) and her own Visma-Lease a Bike teammate Pauline Ferrand-Prévot. Ferrand-Prévot attacked with 800 metres to go, but as Le Court chased her down, Vos sprinted around the Mauritian champion to take the stage.
The opening stage ended up being more of a general classification situation than originally expected, with Kasia Niewiadoma-Phinney (Canyon-SRAM zondacrypto), Demi Vollering (FDJ-Suez), Puck Pieterse (Fenix-Decuninck) and Anna van der Breggen (SD Worx-Protime) making up the rest of the top 7.

How it happened
- It was a rocky start for the women, with a large crash in the neutral, but everyone was able to get back on their bikes. When the flag dropped, it was on narrow, twisting roads, and rather than throw out attacks, the big teams opted to keep things safe until they lined up for the first passage of the finish line with 27.4 km to go.
