Remco Evenepoel is broadening his horizons. According to Het Laatste Nieuws, the double Olympic champion has presented his new Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe team with two different potential racing programs for 2026. Each one would see him hunting separate objectives in the first part of the season before he makes another run at the Tour de France.
One path will focus on the Classics, with HLN reporting that Evenepoel would ride Milan-San Remo "and/or" the Tour of Flanders. Evenepoel has yet to make the start in either race. The other path will take him to the Giro d'Italia, which Evenepoel has raced twice but never finished.
"Based on the Giro stage schedule, which they'll announce soon, we'll be assessing internally and in consultation what's feasible physically and in terms of training," Evenepoel said. (The Giro route reveal is set for December 1.)
Whichever path Evenepoel and his team choose to take, we can probably thank Tadej Pogačar, at least in some small way.
